I recently heard of a blog called 100 Days of Real Food. It's a great source for living on natural whole foods. I'm just starting to read it and I noticed that they offer 3 weeks of FREE Menu Plans with grocery lists! This is wonderful since my summer has been crazy and it's hard for me to wrap my brain around a menu plan this week...

My Organic/Natural Journey & How It's Going
So, as you all know, (if you've been reading this site for the past 2 weeks), I am trying to go all natural and/or organic in the eating habits of our home. It's been interesting to make this switch, and I've found that I'm much more mindful of the ingredients in every product I purchase. FYI: I thought I was already pretty mindful, but now I truly read every bottle, jar, box, or package of food that I buy. If it's not all natural, then I don't buy it. To be honest, I go even farther than that. I read a book years ago on eating white flour and refined white sugar... and I prefer not to buy products that include either of these as the nutrients or health benefits have basically been stripped from the original product. Instead, I invested a year or so ago in a wheat grinder and I also purchase Sucanat to use in place of brown and white sugar in recipes.
I have also received the recommendation from a good friend to read the book called "What The Bible Says About Healthy Living." I'm ordering it from Amazon.com today, and I'm excited to see what it says. I recognize in myself that it's easy for my mind to sway to new ideas, so it's important for me to keep the mindset of what we eat in-line with what God tells me in His Word. There is moderation to everything and our goal should always be to glorify God in all that we do.
So, of course continuing to want to save through coupons, as I come across prices of items at stores, you will start seeing more natural and organic products highlighted on this site. I recognize that it does seem to cost more to shop this way. However, as I learn more about the varying products on the market in this category, I hope that CouponSavingGame.com becomes a source of helpful savings for you to eat, shop, and cook more naturally.

My Publix Deals! (Organic & Natural)
My total savings today was only 24%, but I did stick to only natural and organic selections. If you're going along with me on this journey to eating healthier, I hope seeing my shopping trip helps you make healthy selections. FYI, if you have chips on your list this week, the Kettle Brand Chips are anatural and priced the same as the Cape Cod chips without coupons. I've also found that Friendship is the only brand that has all natural cottage cheese at my Publix store. With the peelie coupons on the lids, it's a decent deal too. I'm still learning the natural/organic products I enjoy and find good deals on. I'll continue to pass along what I find out as I learn this new way of shopping.

Menu Plan Thursday
As you all know, I typically do my grocery shopping on Thursdays, therefore, that is also the day that I plan my weekly menu. (You'll see my grocery photo and breakdown soon.)
For my menu planning, I start by scouring my freezer, fridge, and pantry to see what I have on-hand already. Then, I look to my recipe book for basic meals that my family enjoys. If I want to spice things up a bit, I do a little looking around online for recipes - which ended up happening quite a bit this week. I think I'm getting bored with same 'ole, same 'ole.
Last week, our menu plan seemed to go out the window. I had planned some yummy dinners, but as the week progressed, and the crazy life that we live happened, we didn't end up eating much homemade prepared meals. Looking back, I can't even remember what we ate... but I know we ate! AND, we only ate once in the week out on Father's Day.
Well, with my loss of memory, here's our new menu plan for this week. Hopefully, we'll end up sticking to it because it looks delish to me already.
