Money Saving Tip! - CVS & ECB's

How many times have you gone to CVS for one of the freebie or money maker ECB deals only to find the shelves completely bare?! Well, I've got great news for you!!

Did you know that you can get a Raincheck for the ExtraCare Buck items and still earn those ECB's?! Yes, they will actually write the ECB code on your raincheck and it will print for you even after the item goes off ECB earning status. So, next time you see the shelves bare for those ECB deals, ask for a raincheck and see if your store will honor the ECB code found in the flier by the item's description. The cashier should be able to push the code through to print your ECB. The limits are still set, so you can still only earn as many ECB's as the original ad allows.

Works For Me! - Trick to Natural Peanut Butter

In my turn to go more natural, I began to purchase the Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter, which my kids love.

However, my husband never had the taste for the gloppy, oily substance that forms on the top. It didn't even occur to me that the jar says to "stir and enjoy." So, instead of stirring each time, we simply stir really well once and place it in the refrigerator. Now, whenever we have peanut butter sandwiches, we just open up and spread with no oily mess! An added tip is to take the lid off and pop it in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds to take the chill off, then spread and enjoy. With this method, my husband will now eat the natural peanut butter!

My BIG Shopping Trip & Savings!

Since it's been a crazy week, I wasn't able to head out to the stores until today. However, that allowed me to take advantage of early savings at Walgreens and CVS. All in all, I think the total trip (well-planned out) took about 1 1/2 hours with 3 kids!
With my lists in hand, here's how I did:

Are you wondering why you haven't been receiving a RedPlum insert in your Sunday paper lately? Valassis has stopped distributing their insert in many city's newspapers throughout the U.S. This being said, they plan on mailing them instead.
